Well we rolled into Florence yesterday morning on a fast train from Rome. Luckily we had no problems getting here and finding our campsite, which was a HUGE relief. We are really taking it easy here- mainly because we are both just getting really tired (we have walked SO much on this trip!). But florence is a really pretty city and it is SO hot here right now, i wouldnt be surprised if i found out it is in the 90's. Yesterday we went to the city and just walked around- couldnt get into the duomo because i am a skank (lol) well not quite, you just can't be wearing tank tops- but we has a good time just strolling down streets and getting lost for a good 4 or 5 hours. We had some gelato (yum) and headed home.
Back at the campsite we met this couple that is from seattle. Weird huh? They are prolly in their early 30's, but a super nice couple. They are here for 3 months (crazy!) and are BIKING everywhere! WOW. they said they had already gone over their goal of 2,000 miles. Thats a lot of biking.
Today was pretty relazed again. We just went into town and wondered, once more. I decided not to worry myself over the many churches and museums to see. They im sure they are gorgeous/cool, we need a bit of a break. I was excited however because i got this really cool small globe that i really wanted. I am trying to get stuff for a "world travel" room in our apt/house.
We are missing home a bit but really excited for Germany. We leave for Pisa tommorow for a day trip and then we head to munich on a night train. By the way, I forgot to say that the last night train we took we were in a room with nuns. Awesome.
