I love how all my titles here have been so cheesy. ha, gotta love the cheese :)
I am going to be completley honest about how I am feeling right now. First of all, I want to say that I am so very THANKFUL to God for giving me this trip, and i DO NOT take it for granted. I just want to be honest...thats all.
Rome is yet another huge city to tackle I feel. I think that after coming from both London and Paris, it was not such a good idea to put Rome in there too. My idea of the european adventure was a lot more like where i stayed in Asutria- a small little town in the alps. But to be honest, cities are well...cities. Crowded, busy, and easy to get lost. I will explain.
When we got here on the night train in the morning from Nice, we arrived at 930am. It took us around 2-3 hours to finally find our campsite after getting on the wrong city tram. With our huge backpacks and no food, this meant extreme grumpiness. Finally we got to the site, which is actually really nice and quite close to the city.
Rome is actually really cool, but for the same reasons that London and Paris are cool too (kellen says it,s like one big architectural museum, hehe). There are differences, obviously, but once again my frustration is just that with a new HUGE city comes trying to navigate around masses of people and figuring out exactly which bus or metro to catch (although rome is a bit easier this way).
Now I will stop complaining because I feel like a big brat. Kellen is still cracking me up. Every country we go to its like he takes on this new person. For instance, in france he kept just putting le in front of everything (le mcdonalds, le beach, le dog). Now that we are in Rome he is just saying everything with an italian accent and a O or E on the end. So funny.
Today we wen to see the colloseum (sp?) and Palantine Hill. We took a walking tour through this and it was really cool. Kellen really enjoyed it, considering his favorite movie (or one of them) is gladiator...whod thunk....
